Quake II

Worth buying? What 300 Steam reviews say.

Overwhelmingly Positive2007

The verdict

A classic sci-fi shooter with great weapons and a very full remaster package (expansions, N64 campaign, Call of the Machine). Skip it if you want Quake 1's gothic vibe or hate backtracking.

Great for

Old-school FPS fans and nostalgic players who want a content-rich, modernized 90s shooter

Main risk

Samey, backtracking-heavy levels and a feel that falls short of Quake 1

Worse than Quake 1 / not a real sequel
