“Mass Effect Andromeda is far from perfect, but it’s one of the most fun and dynamic shooters I’ve played since Metroid Prime.”

A fun, beautiful action RPG with the series' best combat, but weak writing, filler side quests and a mandatory EA app. Skip it if you want a true Shepard-level Mass Effect.
Great for
Players who want fast jetpack combat and planet exploration in a standalone sci-fi RPG, ideally on sale
Main risk
Expecting a trilogy-level story and characters, and getting padded fetch quests and EA launcher trouble
69 recent reviews
Recent negative reviews cite the EA app updating and stopping the game from launching, plus crashes and unloadable saves. Likely a launcher-driven dip, but the sample is small.
