“Lights actually bounce around rooms, reflections show up in surfaces and darker areas have a much stronger sense of depth.”

A free ray-traced tech demo of Quake II with striking lighting, but it runs heavy, is often too dark and changes the art style. Skip it if you want the best way to play Quake II; the remaster is better.
Great for
Owners of powerful RTX or modern AMD GPUs who want a free ray-tracing showcase and some retro nostalgia
Main risk
Low framerate with RTX on, very dark and art-altered visuals, and only a few free levels
